Artist Bio

Emili is an independent pop artist whose music sometimes disguises dark truths beneath playful melodies, humour and funky beats. Originally from Sydney and now based in London, she writes and produces her music independently from her bedroom.
Emili not only creates on her own, but also works on her own marketing, from website, merch, and social media. Happy to collaborate when she can, you can hear the people she admires in her songs as backing vocals or in her shows. She also has a chicken-squawk sound in every song. Why? No one knows, but she loves chickens.

Emilis's sonic influence comes from modern pop artists like Sabrina Carpenter, production and music from Tom Misch, and Macedonian music icons such as Toše Proeski.

Her work often explores difficult subject matter, including her experience with domestic violence, with stage 4 blood cancer, and personal healing. Emili’s music hopefully creates space for joy and softness without denying the reality of pain, offering listeners both comfort and catharsis.

Key Themes

• Domestic violence
• Healing
• Reclaiming narrative

Album Overview

Album Title: The Little Princess
Release Date: 28 January 2026
Debut Album: Yes

The Little Princess is a debut album based on the film, "A Little Princess" (1995), that tells Emili’s story through the lens of the film, blending playful pop with deeply personal themes of survival, healing, and truth‑telling.

While the album’s sound is often bright, groovy, and humorous, its subject matter reaches into difficult territory, including domestic violence and serious illness. Emili intentionally contrasts heavy themes with accessible, upbeat production, allowing listeners to engage at their own pace, whether dancing along or listening more closely to the lyrics beneath the surface.

This album is not rooted in revenge, but in release, reflection, and the belief that there is life on the other side of trauma.
There is also a country song about her dog as a noble steed...

Standout Tracks

None Of My Business (Album Single)
A playful, upbeat fan favourite that explores ADHD, loving a little gossip, and emotional avoidance. Beneath its lighthearted tone lies a subtle commentary on domestic violence, revealed only to those who listen closely.

Show They Care
A bright take on Emili’s experience with stage 4 blood cancer. Rather than leaning into the during, the song reflects on the after, the isolation, recovery, and how support often fades once the crisis passes.

Better Off Dead
Confrontational, this track challenges taboo conversations around abuse, alcoholism and accountability, posing the uncomfortable question: “Would it really be so bad if he were gone?”

Fun Fact!
Most of the tracks' main vocals on the album are recorded in one take, specifically "Villain" and "Better Off Dead". It was important to Emili to keep the emotions of the music strong; it's a little more theatrical than polished, keeping any mistakes in, as they are a part of the journey.

Visual Identity

Emili’s visual world draws from:

• Vintage and 1950s‑inspired aesthetics
• Soft, feminine styling
• Outfits inspired by the film, "A Little Princess"
(1995) for the album.

Charity & Purpose

As an independent artist who wrote and produced the album alone from her bedroom, Emili retains full creative and financial control over her work. She has chosen to donate 50% of all album streaming revenue to domestic violence support charity Full Stop Australia.

The album exists not as an act of revenge, but as a gesture of solidarity, reminding listeners they are not alone, and that healing and life beyond trauma are possible.
