Album Singles

Golden Rose

Written and Produced by Emili

"The first album single is something different to anything I've done. The song is about waiting for people to work on themselves so that love can grow. This was the last song to come into the album and almost didn't make it in, but I made it about a golden rose. Golden roses are one of the motifs in the film that inspired the album."

Izabela

Written and Produced by Emili

"Written for my sister, to calm her mind. To look within and see what is worth holding on to. This was also written for myself and other victims of bullying or domestic violence. It was easy to tie this song into the album concept, while thinking about this situation I thought about a princess locked in a tower.

Cut Off

Written and Produced by Emili

"Cutting people off can be a difficult battle. But singing about throwing stars and machetes makes you feel a whole lot better. I also wanted to introduce my Balkan influence into the music. I can't wait to keep exploring the blending of Western English music and Balkan music."

Lil Boy Joe

Written and Produced by Emili

"I had to leave my dog in Australia while I moved countries. It was one of the biggest heartaches, so naturally, I wrote a quirky little country song about it. And lil Joey being my noble steed just came naturally."

None Of My Business

Written and Produced by Emili

"I was dealing with so many different thoughts about what I have experienced and the world. How do I write what I experienced with domestic violence and not make it depressing? At the time, I used to see something I didn't like, or that would make me upset, and I would say, "That's none of my business." So it made it into a song, what if I like to watch the Kardashians and a little gossip because it distracts from my thoughts and life?"
